The Talbot was a large and powerful breed of scent hound that originated in the Middle Ages in France and England. They were primarily used for hunting large game such as boar, deer, and wolves.
Talbots were known for their keen sense of smell, deep chest, and strong, muscular build. They had a thick, short coat that was usually white with patches of color, such as tan or black.
Unfortunately, the Talbot breed is now extinct, with the last known reference to them dating back to the 16th century. Some modern breeds, such as the Bloodhound and the Saint Hubert Hound, are believed to be descendants of the Talbot.
Though they are no longer around, Talbots played an important role in the development of many modern scent hound breeds and their legacy lives on in the canine world today.
